A Curated Resource Library & Bookshop

Welcome! This collection of materials was developed to provide electronic resources for my students and reduce paper consumption in my classes.

The articles listed here are freely available from various sources. Many of the books contain affiliate links to Bookshop.org to provide more information about each title, and as an alternative to shopping at Amazon or big-box stores.

Bookshop.org equips small, independent bookstores with tools and resources. This helps them compete online and maintain their presence in local communities as gathering places for local events and authors.

Purchasing through these links (including the general link above) helps support these small bookstores and Inkwood Healing.

Building Sacred Relationships: A Practical Guide to Working with Guides and Gods

Learning to Journey for Self-Healing, for anyone interested in learning how to journey for the first time.

Learning to Journey Overview & Tips, A downloadable 2-page .pdf that distills the directions in my journey article (above), with a few additional tips.

I’ve created a variety of playlists on my Spotify profile dedicated to shamanic music and drumming. Here are a few I recommend:

~ The Shamanic Drumming playlist contains 15 and 30-minute solo drumming tracks, as well as a variety of shamanic drumming with music. The solo tracks are recommended for first-time journeying.

~ The Norse Shamanic Ceremony playlist contains shamanic music, primarily from Scandinavia, which I use for journey and meditative work. I recommend this for those interested in exploring a wider array of shamanic music for journeying.

~ The Guided Shamanic Journey playlist is the music I use with my clients in my Shamanic Energy Healing Sessions.

The Society for Shamanic Practice’s ‘New to Shamanism page features articles introducing shamanic topics and practices.

The Woman in the Shaman’s Body; Reclaiming the Feminine in Religion and Medicine, by Barbara Tedlock, PhD. This book examines female indigenous lines of shamanism and how they differ from male-based traditions, countering the assumption that most shamans in ancient times were men. This is a beautiful and inspiring collection of shamanic experiences and stories that lift up the power of women in shamanism, past and present.

Yoga Nidra Resources

You can find free Yoga Nidra meditations by searching on YouTube, Spotify, and other streaming services.

Divine Sleep® Yoga Nidra – This is the tradition of yoga nidra I studied with Jennifer Reis. These sessions bring clients deep into inner guided journeys through their five koshas, or sheaths, separating the physical body from the pure energetic formlessness of the true self.

I AM Yoga Nidra by Kamini Desai – Kamini’s meditations can be accessed through her app for a small ($4) one-time fee, or an annual fee for more resources. At $10/year, I find her annual membership worth the cost, and I use her meditations quite a bit.

Recommended Yoga Nidra Books

Radiant Rest, Tracee Stanley – my recommendation for beginners

Yoga Nidra – The Art of Transformational Sleep, Kamini Desai, PhD – recommended for a deeper dive into the science and philosophy of Yoga Nidra.
