Reindeer Shaman Classes
Learn a shamanic tradition once lost to time, and help bring magic back to the world.
Reindeer shamanism is about magic and remembering how connected we are with everything in existence. In our classes, you will immerse yourself in nature, energy, and spirituality, and rediscover just how powerful you really are.
This monthly class series is for people looking to develop a shamanic practice. It focuses on learning to heal yourself and others, shamanic techniques in the physical and spiritual realms, spiritual leadership, and fostering energetic and spiritual connections. Along the way, we’ll explore shamanic practices from different times, cultures, and ecosystems and their impact on modern shamanism. Classes will begin in the fall of 2025.
Meetings will be in-person and online, and work will be assigned regularly to be completed between meetings. In-person sessions will be centered around the Central Massachusetts area. If you are interested in attending, but are outside of the New England region and cannot regularly attend in-person meetings, let me know, and we’ll try to accommodate long-distance learning.
Shamanic Class Topics
Nature Immersion. This might be the most fundamental shamanic practice I can guide you to, and I believe it is one of the easiest. We will spend much time outdoors—both in group and solitary work—exploring and immersing ourselves in the natural world. All our shamanic lessons are there if we look and listen well. Included in this topic is learning plant and animal spirit medicine and bringing what you learn back to your practice.
Intensive Journey and Drumming Work. A deeper dive into the work of our shamanic community. You’ll learn how to journey in various conditions and how to do specific work, including healing people and places, in the spirit realm.
Reindeer Shamanism. Teachings from my specific lineage of Reindeer Shamanism will be woven throughout the class series. You’ll learn how to work in the spirit realm within our sacred places, meet our ancestors, and begin to learn the unique practices that make up this lineage.
Reiki Attunement and Work. Reiki is an integral part of Reindeer Shamanism, and being attuned by me brings you closer to our lineage. A Reiki attunement is part of the class because learning how to channel, heal, and meditate with Reiki is a powerful way to deepen your shamanic practice.
A Taoist Study of Yin and Yang. Taoism is a close spiritual descendant of Asian shamanism (some say that it is shamanism). The ultimate goal of spiritual work is the unification of opposites – bringing yin and yang together. We will study and practice this simple and profound practice within the scope of Taoism, and look at how it fits into shamanism around the world and through time.
Ceremony Creation and Leadership. Ceremony is the art of shamanism. We’ll explore its components, practice them alone and together, and learn and practice what is needed to lead ceremonies for others.
Divination Work. Divination was fundamental to ancient shamanic practices. Shamans helped their community predict the weather, locate animals for hunting and plants for medicine, and understand what was at the root of illness. We’ll explore traditional shamanic divination techniques and more modern practices (yes, including tarot!).
Developing Your Shamanic Practice. All the class topics are about building your practice, but we’ll also take time to look at what an overall shamanic practice could look like and how we can work to bring shamanic energy into our daily lives.
A note about my teaching style: Over the years of working with my shamanic lineage, I have learned that, despite my best planning, what needs to be shared in a class or ceremony is sometimes determined a day (or even hours) before the meeting. Then, my earlier plans go out the window, and I simply follow guidance from spirit. That doesn’t mean I don’t plan! I’m just open to having those plans diverted so that my students get the most important and relevant content for them at that time.
Therefore, this class will have a syllabus and detailed write-up, but it is important to be aware that the content from class to class can and will vary from the schedule as recommended to me by guides and spirits.
My Student Resources page contains resources, including books and free articles, for further research on many of our class topics.
